Health & Safety
Before hiring the Letcombe Regis Riding Club facility all riders or accompanying pedestrians must read and agree to abide by the following Terms and Conditions.
1.
INSURANCE
Letcombe Regis Riding Club, nor any person acting on their behalf accept any liability for any loss, damage, accident, injury or illness to horses, riders, spectators or any other persons or property whatsoever.
Letcombe Regis Riding Club bears no responsibility for any accidents, injuries to horse, rider or third-party damage caused by using the facilities.
Instructors, teachers, trainers, coaches or any person responsible for a rider must hold public liability insurance.
It is the responsibility of all users using the facilities to ensure they are fully insured in all respects to cover personal, horse and third-party liability.
CONDITIONS
By using the facilities the rider accepts that they/their trainer or responsible adult has surveyed the facilities (and any obstacles such as show jumps or cross-country jumps) and the ground conditions and understand that they/their trainer are responsible for assessing the suitability of the ground conditions and/or suitability, construction and maintenance of the jumps/obstacles/fences.
Letcombe Regis Riding Club reserve the right to close the facilities at any time if it is felt that conditions are not suitable or potentially dangerous to use. Any user that has pre-booked will be refunded their charges.
CHILDREN
Children under 18 must be accompanied by an adult at all times. The adult must read, agree and adhere to the Club’s Child Safeguarding Policy
CLOTHING
All riders must wear a current standard riding hat conforming to the BHS, British Eventing, British Show jumping or Pony Club Standard whilst mounted. It is also strongly advisable to wear a hat whilst handling horses.
A body protector conforming to the current BE rules and suitable footwear must be worn at all times whilst using the cross country.
DAMAGE
Please report any damages, problems or any other issues spotted prior to usage or after to the Committee via email to the letcomberegisridingclub@gmail.com.
GENERAL
Keep gates closed at all times - It is the riders’ responsibility to ensure the gates to the arena and field are closed at all times during use.
Dogs must be kept on leads at all times.
Please leave the field and equipment as you would wish to find it. Take your rubbish away with you.
PARKING
all vehicles to be parked in the field and not in the Village Hall car park and are left entirely at your own risk.

The LRRC Committee is committed to safeguarding the health and safety of all members, volunteers, participants, their families, and the public who may be affected by LRRC activities. This commitment includes anyone supporting the club in any capacity.
We aim to ensure, as far as is reasonably practicable, that all LRRC activities are planned and conducted with due regard for health and safety, and in compliance with relevant legal obligations.
Key Responsibilities
The Committees will:

Maintain and regularly update safety procedures and rules for all LRRC activities.

Provide appropriate information to members, volunteers, and affiliated groups to ensure safe participation.

Engage qualified professionals when tasks require expertise beyond that of members or volunteers.

Ensure adequate Public Liability insurance is in place.

Communicate health and safety procedures effectively to all stakeholders.

Investigate accidents promptly to prevent recurrence.

Implement safeguarding measures across all activities.
Members, Volunteers, Coaches, Officials, and Contractors must:

Take reasonable care for their own safety and that of others.

Act within their level of training and follow provided instructions.

Avoid misuse of safety equipment.

Report any hazards, defects, or accidents promptly to an LRRC Committee member.
Health and safety will always take precedence over any other club activity.
Legal and Ethical Compliance
LRRC complies with legislation concerning:
